What To Wear When Pregnant

Even though you are really excited about having a new baby, you may not be so sure how you feel or what to expect when giving up your regular non-pregnant clothes for maternity wear. There is no law that states you are not allowed be both pregnant and trendy.

Moms-to-be want to remain stylish throughout their pregnancy and many businesses have taken notice. Trendy clothing lines have been created to fill this need.

You can even stick to the style of clothing you wear while not pregnant. Of course, you will most likely have to give up your skinny jeans in your first trimester as your baby bump grows and still remain fashionable. This is thanks to the many clothing companies that cater to the pregnant woman’s body.

If you usually wear solid colors as opposed to print, there is no need to suddenly switch to floral tops instead. The days when maternity clothing revolved around flowers are gone. You can choose to purchase your basic pant, jean and skirt in a maternity size and build your maternity wardrobe from there. You do not have to lose your personal style just because of pregnancy.

Before you think about buying a lot of clothes for your pregnancy consider asking your female friends and family who have already gone through their process if they still have their maternity clothing. The more you are able to borrow from these women the more you will save on clothing. Remember, you have a lot of new expenses coming your way outside of your wardrobe.

Thrift stores and other shops can be a place to shop around for clothes to wear while pregnant. Many times women who invested a substantial amount of money in maternity clothing try to make a little money back by selling their items to these types of places. Patience can be a virtue in this process of sifting through the clothes available and good finds are waiting for you.

Another place you can search for alternative maternity clothes is deep in your closet behind the portable space heater you have not used in years. There you will probably find those elastic waist pants you wear around the holidays. The stretch available in those pants can help you get through the first months of pregnancy.
