Same Kind Of Different As Me Review
I am a fan of true stories, and this is one of the best.. This book proves that friendship is stronger than any social or economic labels we put upon ourselves.. It is a raw look at the human race and how treat each other..
Although Ron is very successful, he has struggled to maintain a connection with his family..
Denver Moore was raised under slavery-like conditions as a share-cropper and eventually escaped to live a homeless life on the streets of Texas.
Despite his hesistation, Hall eventually donates his time to a local shelter..
These two men would finally meet each other while Hall was carrying out his service.. Altough they do not immediately hit it off, they eventually form a friendship that is unusual, one that would not only change their lives, but those around them as well.
Eventually, the two would become the best of friends..
While I read this book, I often reconsidered my attitudes toward the homeless..
This book is a great reminder that the less fortunate are still human beings.. If one is willing to take a chance like Ron did, they may actually learn more about themselves than they could ever imagine.
On a side note, I feel that this book would make a great movie. I feel that Denzel Washington or Will Smith would do a fine job in playing the part of Denver..I believe that George Clooney would do a great job in portraying Ron Hall.. With those big name actors, it could definitely be a blockbuster and gain some serious Oscar buzz.
I highly recommend Same Kind of Different As Me by Ron Hall and Denver Moore if you are looking for a great story and some entertainment. While reading it, I feel in love with the story and had to re-read it a second time.. While I read this, I examined my own values and outlook on life..
