Within this collection readers will definatley find five seperate stories that share one unifying theme: the power of an undying love to carry out the will of God.

Each book follows a different woman from the Bible- Tamar, Rahab, Ruth, Bathsheba, and Mary- as they encounter significant personal risks in order to achieve and complete their roles as called upon by God.

The beautiful writing by Rivers provides the readers to see how God changed the lives of these women and the people around them.

These stories are romantic, dramatic, and biblically accurate, although Rivers does add her own spin to each story to create a more vivid description.

I highly suggest this book if you or someone you know is in need of a spiritual role model.

At the end of each book, Rivers offers several verses that allow the reader to dig into their own Bibles for further reflection.

Not only did all of this scripture affect me spiritually, but I felt that I had gained historical knowledge as well, which made the verses seem more relevant and meaningful.

I really loved reading about how God can carry out his plan through anything, even those that have hard pasts.

While some women may even feel that there past mistakes disqualify their importance in God’s plans, River shoes that God can and will use anyone who is willing to put Him first in their lives.

In her Lineage of Grace series, Rivers shows that although the world was a much different place, women back then faced many of the challenges that females deal with in today’s society.

Whether for personal use or as a study group tool, A Lineage of Grace by Francine Rivers is an uplifting and powerful resource that shows that women have always played an important role in society, especially when they are willing to let go and give God control of their lives.
